Can I Still Eat That?

Can I Still Eat That?
We all find ourselves either in a pinch trying to run out the door, not feeling like going out, and just plain hungry. So we open the fridge and see that there’s that pizza you ordered last night or was it two nights ago? Is it still ok to eat or do we need to place another Uber Eats order?

Here is a list of some of the most common leftovers and foods that we may have questions about.

Eggs

– 2-3 weeks after the “sell by”/”best by” date

Left overs

– 3-4 days if they have been refrigerated

Left over pizza

– about 3-4 days in fridge. Do not eat leftover pizza that has been sitting out at room temperature for more than 2 hours

Leafy Greens

Properly stored – 5-10 days depending on the type of lettuce

Avocado

– Fresh and room temp 3-4 days

– Refrigerated 7-10 days

Cooked chicken

– 3-4 days in refrigerator

Cooked potatoes

– 3-5 days in refrigerator

Cooked ground beef , steak, etc.

– 3-5 days

Fresh whole mushrooms /fresh sliced mushrooms

7-10 days/ 3-5 days. Keeping them whole will make them last longer as it has less exposed surface. Throw away when they turn dark and slimy
